The nanostation Loco M2 by default comes with Airmax enabled.

Airmax is UBNT's proprietary implementation of Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA).

TDMA is a wireless communication technology.

Airmax/TDMA is not compatible with the default 802.11 Wifi standard for Access Points.

So that's why, by default, if you setup a nanostation Loco M2 to behave as a Wireless Access Point without disabling Airmax, none of your devices will authenticate.

Screenshots.

I'll now post some screenshots on how I successfully setup a WLAN AP on one of my managed networks.

If you replicate those settings, you should be able to authenticate your Computers/Smartphones/whatever.

  • Disable Airmax from the UBNT Menu.

  • I have purchased 2 NanoStation Locum2s to extend my wireless signal from my house to a garage 90 feet away. I am planning to install one on my house and one on my garage. Will this work? I was told they would have to be on the same electrical circuit which they are not.

    • This will work. They communicate wirelessly so the electrical source is irrelevant. We use them professionally from farm house to yard for IP camera installations.
